Polar Inc. has released his debut album titled Tragicomedy. The Cape Town producer, who has been active for over a decade, presents his first full-length project after accumulating more than 120 million streams. This album features ten tracks that blend a range of emotions, showcasing his characteristic style of balancing happiness and melancholy, cinematic qualities, and club rhythms.
Singles Leading Up to the Album
Prior to the album’s release, several singles were unveiled, including “Sympathy” featuring Anna-Sophia Henry, “Cerulean,” “For You” with Nathan Ball, and “Slopes” featuring Hannah Ray. The creation of “Slopes” began during a tour stop in San Francisco, inspired by the hills the artist explored that day, and was later completed in the studio.
Track Highlights and Collaborations
Beyond the singles, Tragicomedy comprises additional tracks such as “Holding Me Up” with sadHAPPY, “Le Concorde,” “Apricity,” “Catching Fire” featuring ALLKNIGHT, and “Agulhas.” The album opens with“Prima,” a track that originated from a chord progression that Polar Inc. frequently revisited during the album’s production, initially lasting eight minutes before it was edited down.
