This weekend, Canada’s biggest electronic music festival returns to Toronto for a bass-thumping, blood-pumping good time. Music enthusiasts from all corners of Canada are preparing to descend upon Toronto for the much-anticipated Veld Music Festival.
Returning to Downsview Park for its 13th year, Veld has earned its reputation as Toronto’s premier electronic dance music extravaganza. Since its inception over a decade ago, the music festival has been synonymous with epic performances, unforgettable moments, and a sense of unity among festival-goers. This year is no exception, as they pull out all the stops to make it the most exciting celebration yet, with an electrifying lineup spread across three extravagant stages.
Star-Studded Lineup
The lineup for Veld 2026 is nothing short of spectacular, featuring some of the biggest names in electronic music from around the globe. At the forefront is Ontario’s own Deadmau5, who headlined Veld’s very first festival back in 2012. His return is particularly exciting as he will share the stage with Kaskade for their debut performance as a duo, known as Kx5. Other notable artists gracing the stage include Illenium, hard techno sensation Sarah Landry, renowned DJ Charlotte de Witte, the legendary English group Above & Beyond, the illustrious Armin van Buuren, and the ever-popular Fisher. The diversity in the lineup ensures that attendees will experience a wonderful mix of electronic genres, keeping the energy high throughout the festival.
Wristband Pickup
For those looking to streamline their festival experience, Veld offers an efficient wristband pickup option to help you skip the lengthy lines on festival days. Early wristband collection is available on July 28 and July 29 at DPRTMNT Nightclub from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. On July 30, you can head over to Downsview Park’s Festival Box Office from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and then from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. from July 31 to August 2 during the festival. It’s important to bring a photo ID along with the credit card used for your original purchase to ensure a smooth pickup process.
Themed Days
This year, Veld introduces a unique thematic element to each day of the festival, adding an exciting twist for attendees. Friday is dubbed Y2K day, encouraging festival-goers to don their most nostalgic attire featuring low-rise jeans, butterfly clips, baby tees, and track suits that harken back to the early 2000s. Saturday invites participants to channel their inner woodland spirit with the Enchanted Forest theme, perfect for those who love earthy and mystical vibes. Finally, Sunday ramps up the excitement with a post-apocalyptic Thunderdome theme, promising a dramatic close to the weekend festivities.
Three Festival Stages
With three distinct stages, Veld 2026 caters to a wide array of musical tastes. The main stage will showcase the biggest names in electronic dance music, promising heavy beats and pulsating rhythms. Meanwhile, the Sirkus Stage will focus on the energizing sounds of techno and house music, while the Smirnoff Bass Stage dives into the world of subgenres, featuring dubstep, trap, and drum and bass. Each stage offers a unique atmosphere that allows festival-goers to immerse themselves in various sonic landscapes.
Veld Afterparties
The excitement of Veld doesn’t end once the artists finish their sets. Each day of the festival features fantastic afterparty options at various venues across Toronto, ensuring the celebration continues well into the night. Official afterparties will be hosted at Rebel, Noir, and DPRTMNT, providing a vibrant atmosphere for those looking to keep the energy alive. It’s advisable to purchase tickets in advance, with prices starting at approximately $56, depending on the tier, allowing attendees to enjoy renowned DJs and partying in a more intimate setting.
Veld Music Festival runs from July 31–August 2 at Downsview Park, and promises a weekend brimming with spectacular performances, themed fun, and a community experience like no other. Get ready to dance, revel, and create memories at one of North America’s premier electronic music festivals!
