BLITZ Listening Sessions continue on May 15 as Munich’s renowned club once again shifts away from traditional nightlife formats and opens its doors for an evening focused entirely on listening rather than dancing.
Part of the ongoing Rooms For Music series, the event invites Tune and HDK to curate a night dedicated to deep sonic exploration inside the iconic BLITZ sound environment.
Running from 8 PM until late, the concept transforms the club floor into a seated hangout and listening space complete with specially designed atmosphere, drinks and community-driven programming. Instead of peak-time pressure and fast-moving dancefloor energy, the focus moves toward detail, texture and concentrated listening through BLITZ’s carefully tuned soundsystem.
The BLITZ Listening Sessions project represents something increasingly rare within contemporary club culture: a deliberate slowing down.
Inspired by classic listening sessions but rooted firmly in Munich’s present-day underground scene, the format reconnects with the club’s earlier Before The Party Starts concept while opening space for local collectives, labels and artistic communities to shape evenings around sound in more experimental and reflective ways.
Across the series, programming moves fluidly between ambient excursions, artist talks, deep techno meditations, jazz influences, post-punk reflections and hybrid electronic expressions rarely heard during standard club nights.
For this edition, Tune and HDK guide the atmosphere through their own curatorial perspective, contributing to a project that feels less like nightlife consumption and more like collective listening as cultural practice.
Part of what makes BLITZ Listening Sessions stand out is the way the club intentionally reimagines its own physical and social environment. The dancefloor becomes a seated space. Conversations happen alongside concentrated listening. The room itself slows down.
